ALD Automotive supports diversity in technology roles

ALD Automotive has proudly announced that it is the first business to partner with Bristol based Women’s Tech Hub and Women’s Tech Jobs.

ALD is the leading vehicle leasing operation in Europe, managing over 1.5 million vehicles across 43 countries worldwide. With its UK head office located in Emersons Green, Bristol, it is one of the fastest growing companies in the South West and is currently looking to grow its talent base.

Women’s Tech Hub’s mission is to create a support system for women in technology, focusing on practical strategies such as mentoring and confidence boosting. The organisation has also launched Women’s Tech Jobs to find great companies for women in technology to work with and be supported throughout their careers. Women’s Tech Jobs works with businesses to support them in becoming more female-friendly places to work through support with talent acquisition, employer branding, diversity and inclusion.

Janice Rae of Women’s Tech Jobs said: “We’re thrilled to be working with ALD Automotive, who are a truly forward-thinking organisation. We’ve been so impressed with how women in tech are encouraged and supported in the business. ALD is really setting itself apart in this area and we’re delighted to be partnering with them on their journey”.

With Bristol currently a thriving hotspot for tech companies, it’s a natural pairing for the two organisations to collaborate. Bristol has firmly established itself as a booming hub for tech start-ups. One reason for its popularity is its location. Situated in the west, it’s in close proximity of Wales, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, perfect for commuting from the surrounding areas.

Rob Baker, Resourcing Business Partner from ALD commented: “We’re very excited to form what we hope will be a long-term partnership with the Women’s Tech Hub. Having been introduced by a member of our IT team, we have been very impressed on a number of levels and it didn’t take us long to decide we’d like to become a sponsor. It’s very clear that they’re offering true, impartial support, advice and guidance to their members.”

The new venture marks a promising future for businesses recognising female talent within a historically male-dominated sector.

Baker continues: “The values and ethics of the Women’s Tech Hub are closely aligned to our own core business values. We believe that diversity strengthens our business, providing new ideas and allowing us to continue to be one of the most innovative organisations in our sector”.
