Mel Dawson

Managing Director

Mel held various roles at Ford Credit prior to joining ALD as Commercial Director in 1996. Throughout his tenure at ALD, Mel’s focus has been on ensuring the business delivers the highest standards of service and leading edge industry solutions. In 2004, Mel was appointed Sales Director, ultimately responsible for all corporate client accounts and providing senior level support to all of ALD’s blue chip portfolio and white label partnerships. In January 2013, Mel was appointed Managing Director of ALD UK.

David Yates

Marketing Director

David joined ALD Automotive in January 1991 after 4 years in sales management at Cowie-Interleasing. He was part of the management buy-out team in 1995 and has overseen the growth of the company from having a fleet of less than 5,000 vehicles to 130,000 today. Having spent almost 30 years within the vehicle leasing sector he uses this experience to help put together the best solutions to meet ever changing customer needs and is committed to making sure ALD delivers the highest level of customer service. He was appointed Marketing Director in 2003 after ALD Automotive acquired Hertz Lease and has responsibility for all of the company’s marketing and communications activity.

Ian Turner

Sales Director

Ian is responsible for ALD new business and account development sales teams in the UK. He brings a track record of success and a wealth of sales expertise to the role, having begun his career in 1988 with Jessops Vehicle Contracts before moving on to Hertz Lease and then ALD. Ian is passionate about how ALD meets customer and market needs. He actively builds strategic relationships with customers and ensures ALD’s sales teams provide best fit contracts and services, best value for each customer, and new ways to meet or exceed expectations. Under Ian’s stewardship, ALD continues to achieve excellent growth and customer retention levels.

Charlie Pantlin

IT Director

Charlie is responsible for ALD’s Information Technology strategy and oversees the IT Service, Development, and Operation teams. Charlie joined ALD at the beginning of 2003 as an Application Developer, going on to hold key roles within senior management before his appointment as IT Director in 2018. He holds a clear passion for delivering quality services and solutions through collaborative working practices and methodologies.

Tim Laver

Finance Director

Tim is responsible for ALD’s finance, credit and compliance teams. Tim joined ALD in 2005 from ARVAL where he was a member of the Internal Audit team. Prior to his time at ARVAL he trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young.

Steve Lavery

Customer Service Director

Steve joined ALD Automotive UK as Customer Service Director in November 2016 after holding a variety of roles in customer engagement, strategy development and transformation at both Vodafone and EE. Responsible for leading the customer services teams, Steve uses his expert knowledge to ensure ALD continues to deliver exceptional levels of customer service which go above and beyond the needs of our customers and partners.

Anna Woodward

Director of Legal & Compliance

Anna joined ALD in March 2013 from a leading law firm. She became Director of Legal and Compliance at ALD in November 2016 and is responsible for overseeing the Legal, Compliance and Facilities teams. Anna qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and uses her wealth of legal expertise to ensure that ALD conducts its activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and in the interest of our customers and partners.

Jo Monk

HR Director

Jo is responsible for ALDs People Strategy. Jo and her team are responsible for all aspects of HR and Personal Development. They are committed to supporting our people and customers by ensuring that ALD is a high performing and rewarding place to work. Jo joined ALD in 2005 from a number of FMCG companies, including Unilever, Golden Wonder and Johnson Diversey.
